The soil of Katrice's narrative
Developing her voice
Katrice Horsley's fascination with the power of language began with a struggle to find her own voice. Speech-impaired and a selective mute for part of her childhood, she came to know firsthand what it costs to go without one.
This lived knowledge, combined with her 30-year experience as a performance storyteller (with a repertoire of over 300 stories) and her career in training design and delivery, puts her in a truly unique place within the field of coaching and leadership work.
She knows how to design training, how to perform to audiences from many cultures and she knows what the cost is of not trusting your voice and your story. All of this she has woven together to create a truly impactful and transformative experience for those she works with.
Global proof of concept
Her early career in community development and child play, developed further during a six-year period living and working in Ghana. There, she witnessed how storytelling could deeply communicate vital information that helped people thrive and take on board new ideas. Working alongside international aid organisations, she developed narrative approaches that created behaviour change and grew collective resilience.
Cultivating the Narrative 4 Change framework
Upon returning to the UK, Katrice wove together the strands of her expertise to create the first iteration of the Narrative 4 Change Framework. When she moved to Sweden, where she now resides, she stitched in the final thread. Recognising that traditional leadership structures fail because they are taught to treat organisations and the people within them as isolated units rather than a connected whole, she introduced an ecological element- rooted in story as the soil of leadership. Today, she partners with HR executives, elite sports leaders, and organisations including UNICEF, UNHCR, USOPC, Insight, and Nordea Bank to grow adaptive, supportive, organisational thriving.
Katrice tends the soil of story, drawing on the natural chemistry of empathetic storytelling to grow deep corporate trust, alignment, and people who choose to stay and grow with the organisation.
